BrightScale (formerly Connex Technology) has developed a groundbreaking digital video processing technology for the next generation of digital television (DTV) and multimedia products.

BrightScale’s programmable video platform (PVP) offers DTV and Multimedia products’ original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) a flexible and scalable Audio/Video processing engine.

Our patented PVP technology delivers a complete processing engine for video decode, de-interlacing, scaling and frame rate conversion.  BrightScale’s advanced video processing algorithms can be customized by the TV OEM using BrightScale's "C" compiler and libraries.

BrightScale’s BA 1024 Programmable Media Processor

BrightScale provides a single-chip system platform capable of processing full HD 1080p images including video post-processing without the overhead usually associated with programmable solutions. BrightScale provides the same price/performance ratio of traditional hardwired ASICs with the flexibility inherent in software customization.

BrightScale’s PVP is based on a unique programmable array technology. This disruptive massively parallel architecture has been optimized with consumer digital video in mind. The BA1024 is a highly integrated SOC that combines all of the digital processing for audio, video and user management in a television.

BrightScale’s BA 500 Smart Panel Processor

BrightScale’s newest product is a scaled down version of the BA 1024 with all of the power needed for Panel OEMs to provide advanced features. The BA 500 and the BrightScale algorithms provide state of the art  Cadence and Motion Compensated Frame Rate Conversion for film and video content as well as state of the art processing of video data for new backlight control algorithms.
